Since the second half of the 60s, Cerruti had been systematically designing clothes for women to achieve greater recognition and renown. One particularly innovative move was to blur the lines between the sexes at the Cerruti runway shows. The result was an androgynous look for men and women. This was also considered a revolution at a time when Cerruti was making headlines throughout the world and it thereby defined a new standard to which several other designers soon subscribed.
